I understand how some lesbians like to see their sexuality in relation to just loving women but to me it’s important that my lesbianism is also about not loving men. That’s not “centering” men in my personal understanding of myself as a lesbian but about recognizing the material reality of how I am punished as a lesbian for not being attracted to men. I’ve fought hard to continuously assert myself as a lesbian, to fight the insistence that I should be attracted to men when pressed by my family and homophobes. My experience as a lesbian is related intimately not only to just loving women but not loving men, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If you think that’s not inclusive enough then it is because it’s not supposed to be, to find fault with lesbian identity for being lesbian identity is literally homophobic
so i thought my day had hit it’s lowest point when i got chastised by a bunch of uptight bitches in a dog behavior advice forum for no fucking reason other than most likely their loveless marriages and rich-lady day-drinking
but now my netflix n chill (w/ strawberries and my dog) is interrupted at 1fucking AM because someone who hasn’t done a thing for me in years decided it’s time to drag me into their white women enviro-liberal hell and demand i explain why campaigns banning plastic accessibility devices is ableist.
